General Information

Ruan Scout Centre is owned and operated by Scouting Ireland - Clare Scout County and is approved by Scouting Ireland. The centre is surrounded by woodland and natural beauty and is located on the Mid-Clare Way, on the edge of the Burren. The centre is an ideal venue for camping, hill walking or to use as base camp while exploring the beauty of the Burren and the rugged West coast of Ireland.

The site is situated near Ruan village approximately 12Km from Ennis town, the market town for of County Clare. The campsite is 14 acres in size, three of which can be used for camping. The site is located beside woodland which is owned by Coillte and is ideal for bivvying, shelter building and challenges.

The site contains indoor accommodation for meetings, training or sleeping (beds / linen not provided) or inclement weather. Separate toilet and showers for leaders and children. A wet weather shelter / indoor dining area is also available on site.

The site also contains a Beaver Scout play area - rope bridge, climbing wall, obstacle course.
