The National Youth Forum was held this weekend at the Blackrock Scout Center. Scout and Venture delegates from all the scout provinces in Ireland came together to discuss pressing issues, vote on various motions, train on being youth reps and elect 9 national reps. John Donlon and Joe Vaughan from Sixmilebridge and Meabh Gardiner from Killaloe were there representing the Western Province having been elected provincial reps at the provincial forum in Tuam.

A big congratulations to John and Meabh who have now been elected as National Reps by a group of their peers. It is a terrific achievement for these two scouts on a personal level. They were presented with special scout team necko's at the end of the forum by the program commissioner for scouts which they can wear with pride as one of only 12 people in the country to have one. Again it is great for Clare scouting to have youth members who have reached this level within the association. Also congratulations to Joe who was elected as chairman for the western province youth reps by his western province peers at the weekend.

Hope to see you all at the County Challenge Sun 20th in SMB, details will follow.

Just to round up from the weekend in Ruan. We had a successful training weekend and county forum for the scouts with hopefully a bit learned and certainly lots of ideas put forward by the scouts in relation to events and county matters.

Can you all say a big thank you from me to all the scouts who showed an interest in running for election as county reps and who will now form our county committee, these 13 scouts are Joe Vaughan, John Donlon (SMB), Lowell Ryan, Meabh Gardiner, Emer Mooney (Killaloe), Kayleigh Malone, Eoghan Keane, Aaran lysaght (Ennis), James Hanrahan, Eoin Ross, Colin Delahunt (Shannon), Tasha Liddy (Newmarket), Carsten Lipfert (Clarecastle). It is great that all groups are represented and I encourage you to get these scouts to the county meetings that their voice is heard.

From this 13 all scouts in attendance elected their 4 reps to go to provincial forum. A big congratulations to Joe Vaughan, John Donlon and Meabh Gardiner and Colin Delahunt who will represent their county at the forum in Tuam on the 12th Dec.

Our ventures also had a forum at the weekend with Peter English and Shane McCormack being elected as reps for Killaloe for the provincial forum. 2 more reps are to be elected from Shannon and Ennis (1 each). It will be great to have someone from each venture unit at the forum and talk to your ventures also to see if they would like to be a provincial rep.
